My husband and I learnt some invaluable tips on how to settle, play with and feed our newborn baby, things that were not taught in hospital. These tips will stay with us and help us raise the family we are planning to expand.

I was very much in the dark and constantly anxious as our baby cried excessively, was difficult to settle and had problems sucking. Without the FCC’s help I wouldn’t have been surprised if I had needed medication to cope and maybe even had put our baby onto formula. Not only did I receive practical tips, my mental health was also considered and I had a session with a compassionate counsellor. The alarming thing about my situation was that I had lots of family help and support, yet I still needed outside help. I can only imagine how much worse it would be for someone without family support.
